π F/A-18C Team Time Trial
2β4 Pilots. One Team. Two Times Count.
The F/A-18C Team Time Trial is now a permanent part of our MultiRace server.
It uses the same AirRace infrastructure as our regular Helicopter, Warbird and Jet competitions, but adds a separate team-based ranking for specially marked F/A-18C Hornet slots.
You do not need to wait for a scheduled event. Build a team, select one of the dedicated Team Time Trial aircraft and fly whenever the server is online.
π€ How does the Team Time Trial work?
A Team Time Trial team consists of 2 to 4 different pilots.
Each pilot flies the regular 3-lap Jet course individually in the F/A-18C Hornet. Team members do not have to fly together or even on the same day.
Every pilot can improve their personal Team Time Trial result at any time.
For the team ranking, the two fastest individual pilot times from the team are combined. The team with the lowest combined time leads the ranking.
If another team member later sets a faster time, the team result is automatically recalculated using the two fastest results.
β±οΈ Example Team Result
Example with four team pilots:
Pilot 1 β 3:05.240
Pilot 2 β 3:07.810
Pilot 3 β 3:09.415
Pilot 4 β 3:12.020
Team Time: 6:13.050
Pilot 1 + Pilot 2 are the two fastest pilots and therefore count toward the team result.
βοΈ Dedicated Team Time Trial Aircraft
The Team Time Trial uses dedicated F/A-18C Hornet slots within the MultiRace mission.
These aircraft are separated from the regular F/A-18C race slots and are clearly assigned to a specific Team Time Trial team.
Internally, every TTT aircraft carries a unique team and pilot-slot identifier, for example:
AirRace-Jets-TTT-Team-Guest-01-1
AirRace-Jets-TTT-Team-Guest-01-2
AirRace-Jets-TTT-Team-TigerMercs-02-3
This allows our server scripts to automatically identify the team, pilot slot, aircraft and race result without affecting the normal F/A-18C leaderboard.
A completed TTT run therefore counts as a normal F/A-18C race result and as a Team Time Trial result.
𧩠Available Teams
The mission currently provides prepared Team Time Trial groups, including Guest Teams and dedicated TigerMercs Teams.
Guest Teams allow pilots to form a team and start racing without requiring a dedicated squadron setup.
If your squadron, virtual wing or community wants to participate under its own name, contact us on Discord. We can add dedicated Team Time Trial slots using your squadron or community name.
π Automatic Results & Leaderboards
Team Time Trial results are processed automatically by our MultiRace system.
- π Results β completed individual Team Time Trial runs
- π₯ Team Rankings β current ranking of all complete teams
- π The Fastest Team β the current overall Team Time Trial leader
Results are available on our Air Race Discord and on dcs-air-race.eu.
The system uses persistent player identification internally, allowing results to remain assigned to the correct pilot even if a DCS player name changes.
β±οΈ Perfect for Short Sessions
The Team Time Trial is designed as an easy addition to your normal DCS routine:
β Join the MultiRace server
β Select a dedicated F/A-18C TTT team slot
β Fly the 3-lap Jet course
β Improve your personal Team Time Trial result
β Contribute to your team score
β Come back and try again whenever you want
There is no requirement for the whole team to be online at the same time, making the format suitable for international squadrons and pilots flying in different time zones.
π©οΈ Current Team Time Trial Aircraft
The current Team Time Trial implementation uses:
- F/A-18C Hornet β 3 Laps
The system has been designed so that additional aircraft or Team Time Trial classes can be added later without changing the basic concept.
